- Cross product: I can calculate it but I never know which way the answer points
this finally makes sense. so k is out of the page, anticlockwise = +k, and swapping order flips the sign. I'll recheck my torque examples tonight.

- Cross product: I can calculate it but I never know which way the answer points
yes!! I did the j-term with a plus. Thank you, I redid it and got -3, 6, -3. I'm going to colour code the signs in my notes 😅

- I love both drawing and biology. Do I really have to pick one?
Colour-coded list tip: instead of "Medicine vs Art", make columns for *what I do all day* in each. Not the job title, the actual activities. That's how I figured out what I didn't want. Sometimes the title is what attracts you, but the hours are different.

- Why does the cell bother with cyclic photophosphorylation when non-cyclic already gives ATP and NADPH?
Water splitting happens on the **inner (lumen) side** of the thylakoid membrane, associated with PS II. Mn is the essential ion (in the oxygen-evolving complex), and Ca²⁺ and Cl⁻ are also required. NCERT says these ions (Mn, Ca, Cl) are involved. The 4 H⁺ released go into the lumen, which adds to the proton gradient and helps ATP synthesis.

- I deleted social media for 21 days. It wasn't a glow-up. It was boring, then it was fine.
Colour-coded question: can I start with just the phone-outside-the-room rule? I get nervous about big changes. Also I'm reading this at night and now I'm scared to look at my phone, it's staring at me from the charger.

- GFR is 125 mL/min but urine is only about 1.5 L a day, so where does the rest go?
but is it exactly 180 minus 1.5 that gets reabsorbed? because I read something about secretion also adding stuff to the tubule

- GFR is 125 mL/min but urine is only about 1.5 L a day, so where does the rest go?
oooh minutes. okay. thank you 😭 I was multiplying 125 by 60 only and stopping at 7.5 L. Also so the "other" 178 L is basically not lost, it just goes back in blood. Makes sense.

- How do I make friends in a new coaching batch when I'm really shy?
Update: used yash's line today ("I found today's topic confusing") on the girl next to me and she said "OMG same, I was so lost." We're getting chai tomorrow. Thank you all so much!!

- Photoelectric effect: why does stopping potential ignore intensity while saturation current doesn't? My brain says brighter = faster electrons
thank you, I see it in the graph now. same stopping point, different heights.
12d ago
- Festival season vs exam season: my Navratri-to-Diwali survival chart (with tables, obviously!)
Sara same! I'm in class 11 as well and I'm already making a colour-coded festival calendar after reading this, with green for "must attend" and red for "must NOT attend". Is it weird that I'm excited about it? Tanvi, can I copy your table format?

- Photoelectric effect: why does stopping potential ignore intensity while saturation current doesn't? My brain says brighter = faster electrons
I think the brighter the light the more energy each electron gets, so the K_max should also increase a little with intensity, but the graph in NCERT only shows the stopping potential for different frequencies?

- How do I make friends in a new coaching batch when I'm really shy?
ishita this is exactly what I needed. a plan. I'm putting it in my planner tonight 😂

- How do I make friends in a new coaching batch when I'm really shy?
haha thanks yash. "aaj ka topic confusing laga" is actually doable. I can say that.
12d ago
- Why do computers only use 0 and 1? Why not 0 to 9 like us?
follow up from a fellow PCB person. How does the computer know that 01000001 is the letter A and not the number 65?

- Starting digital art on a tight budget: pen tablet, cheap tablet, or just my phone?
this is so helpful everyone, thank you. plan: borrow or try a pen tablet before buying, install the free software on my laptop first to see the interface, and get sketch practice on paper. will post my first digital sticker when it's done!!

- Starting digital art on a tight budget: pen tablet, cheap tablet, or just my phone?
brush stabilisation is exactly what I need!! thank you kabir. I have an old family laptop I can use, so pen tablet seems doable
14d ago
- The honest version of my drop year (for the girl who just opened her result)
Is there a way to know *before* the result if I'd want to drop? Or do you only figure it out after?
15d ago
- Zwitterion confusion: what is the charge of an amino acid at different pH, and how are amino acids classified?
net zero but not "no charge", got it!! I'll redraw with + and − marked
17d ago
- I sketched for 10 minutes a day for 30 days. Here is my very organised list of what happened
the "stored symbol" idea is so true!! I do this with letters when I draw bubble fonts in my notes, I draw what I think a letter looks like. Also love that you kept the day 1 and day 30 photos, going to steal this for my own sketchbook

- Is it okay to rewatch the same comfort series every exam season?
thank you all, so helpful. i'm going to try: one episode, after study, with a 25 min timer, audio only if i'm already in bed. and write my bad-day rule on a sticky note tonight. will update after unit tests!

- Is it okay to rewatch the same comfort series every exam season?
this "calmer vs emptier" test is so useful. but what if it's the only thing that actually calms me before sleep on stressful nights? like nothing else works, not music, not reading.

- Pluto "hasn't cleared its orbit", but Earth shares its orbit with asteroids too. What does "cleared" mean?
that is the exact summary I'm using in my head from now on

- Pluto "hasn't cleared its orbit", but Earth shares its orbit with asteroids too. What does "cleared" mean?
Your table is going into my notes (with credit 😄). One thing I still don't get though. Pluto's orbit crosses Neptune's. Why don't they ever collide? Does Neptune "control" Pluto?
19d ago
- Buying your first laptop without burning your family's money: a checklist, a table and 6 shortcuts
Honest question: for just notes and PDFs, would you say tablet or laptop? I like handwriting but my handwriting on a screen is awful. I colour-code everything so I need good colour choices, and I'm scared I'd never use the keyboard.
19d ago
- How I read a mock result at 2 am without ruining the next four days
the sticky note idea is so cute. Would put one on my laptop too.
19d ago
- Does friction always do negative work? Also why is work zero when I hold a heavy bag still?
Updated the table: friction can be positive, negative or zero. Dropping "always negative" from my notes. Thank you!
20d ago
- IC, EC, FRC, VC, TLC: which volumes go into which capacity? My worked answer doesn't match the key
the "what stays in the lung after a normal breath out" thing, that's the derivation I was missing. FRC = ERV + RV. Fixing all my cards right now (in the correct colour this time) 🎨
22d ago
- My plan B list, written in my third year (so you can write yours in your first)
I'm in class 11, is it too early to make a plan B? Or is it bad luck to even write it? I feel guilty just thinking about it. Also should I be making the same table for JEE-type options even though I'm PCB?
23d ago
- I wrote this poem at 2am and I still can't tell if it's good
I tried the "describe one object in six lines without the word feel" exercise tonight with my pen stand. It ended up being about my stationery obsession so it's not exactly deep but it was FUN. thanks for the prompt list!

- Is it normal to feel lonely in a hostel even when you're surrounded by people?
oh right, I didn't think about the oven part. thanks for correcting me kavya! no-cook it is then.
